How do you know if you have RLS?
Without going to the doctor how would I know if I have restless leg syndrome? I don’t have a problem with it everyday, but when I do I feel like I’m going to go crazy. I’ve noticed little things for years, but whatever reason I’ve never said anything to a doctor because I had never really heard of RLS until about a year or two ago.

If you have RLS then you will feel uncomfortable feelings in your legs. You will notice the feelings more often if you are sitting or lying down. You will feel so restless, that you will just go nuts if you can’t get up and move around. My sister has RLS and her weird feelings are almost always below the knee. But I have heard of people who sometimes have them in their feet too. You most likely will feel the sensations in both legs if you do have RLS and you will want to constantly move your legs and will be tossing and turning in your bed at night because of RLS.

If you have restless leg syndrome then you will have strange sensations in your legs (and sometimes arms)and an irresistible urge to move your legs to relieve the sensations. These sensations are not painful, but they are uncomfortable. They are an itchy, pins and needles, or “creepy crawly” feeling deep in the legs. These sensations are usually worse when resting and lead to walking discomfort and sleep deprivation as well as stress.
