Stretching is vital. There’s been research done on whether it reduces injury, makes you more flexible to do it before versus after and so on- but none of that really matters if you feel that it helps!

As long as you take your time and stop before it is painful (as opposed to just feeling a stretch), stretching can’t hurt and often helps you feel more ‘connected’ before you begin to exercise. It’s a nice way to come down from activity too.

stretching helps my leg muscles respond more favorably to exercise. When I am limber I have less cramping

stretching does help with cramps. I recently started attending a yoga class at my local YMCA and it’s made a world of difference

Strecting keeps the leg muscles loose and it helps the muscles from tightening. This is a great way to avoid leg cramps.
